Thoughts from here and there …

Stockholm

Here I am again…flipping pages of my own Book ,The Book that i choose to write in it what i want to write. this time from Stockholm, and my God, I have a lot to tell …

A statue of the King whom died from a toothache…

I was supposed to sit and write my Blog today in a Cafe , Resturant or a bar. but my tiredness took over me and here i am in my hotel Room, staying in Bed and just throwing words spontaneously without thinking.

Scandinavia is Amazing,I have been to Finland, Denmark (I will be writing about it later) and Now in Sweden. You can immediately sense the difference of the Scandinavian countries once you step your foot in the country. Despite the fact that my trip to Copenhagen was more enjoyable. Stockholm is Amazing but it could have been definitely better maybe with a company. anyways i always enjoy myself as a Solo traveler . There is Always a lot to learn from different people and a lot to enjoy while exploring hidden places.

Djurgarden

Most of the European cities have a lot in common, it is fun though to hear different stories from different perspectives from those people. it cracked me up listening to the different versions of the story about the competition between the Danish and the Swedish people. It reminds me also about how some feelings or impressions about or toward certain people cannot be changed forever.

Old Town

“Grumpy Tourist syndrome” …

Meeting different people, making friends, talking to strangers, asking locals , all , in my opinion, is a normal healthy part of “fun” and “enjoyable” Traveling experience, all can actually go well until you meet those tourists with the “Grumpy Syndrome” and they try to ruin your mood for no reason, have you ever wondered what are the sings and symptoms? 😂

Let’s go:

•They walk usually in groups, they are either friends or families with Birkenstock and Sport Outwear

•They do not talk at all if you meet them in guided tours and they take the tour so seriously as if they gonna sit for an exam afterward.

•They do not understand sarcasm or humor, if you are a tour guide and try to enlighten the atmosphere they might glance at you with the weirdest looks you can ever imagine, they make you doubt yourself 😂

•No specific age but more common among women than men .

•They stare at you intensely and once you catch the eye contact and smile they show a grumpy face or mumble something and walk away.

•They might be quite and maintain superficial communication with others but once they pass beside you they make sure to speak so loud and say something harassing.

Despite the fact , there are a lot of good people but somewhen and i can assure you, you might meet a tourist with the “Grumpy syndrome” , how to deal with that? well, I ask myself also this question many times but a gentle reminder to myself and maybe you, if people have the energy and the time to harass others when they are somewhere else , in a place when they are supposed to make the best of it as an experience, that actually reflect nothing but real insecurities in themselves, it might also be the toxic enviourment they grew up in and it made them think the world does not work in other way than what they know or believe in and that how people are supposed to communicate … I met in Stockholm many of those with the « Grumpy Syndrome «  my reaction was always: a simple smile, ignore and walk away …

Grumpy Tourist Syndrom might be annoying but it wont be as destructive as your mother’s narcissist and toxic behavior 😉❌

Meatballs 🇸🇪

The Food options in Stockholm are AWESOME , in every Corner there are “Fika”, The Swedish word for Coffee, although it might sound like the German slang Word Fik , meaning Sex but Fika in Swedish means simply Coffee ☕️

It is impressing how coffee is introduced differently among different cultures. in Sweden you wont find difficulties in finding your favorite Fika, there are wide and diverse options but local people I believe tend to drink filter coffee . Deer Meat is also available everywhere and introduced always as an option in many restaurants .

Vietnamese Food
Persian Food

Yesterday evening after an awesome self guided tour in Stockholm i came across this Resturant, I wanted to charge my phone and the seats looked so cosy, little did i think about what i would do and what i would experience. The resturant is closing in 30 minutes, I have to order something so i can be seated. I could not tell if i was hungry or not but was definitely tired. the sweet lady in the resturant suggested some Eggplants dips with bread and i craved some black tea …

my food arrived , the taste of the warm tea with Saffron and the Plant sugar was amazing, the taste of the tea combined with the Eggplant dips exploded some kind of emotions in me . it took me years back to a random winter night beside the oil heaters in the kitchen when there was no electricity and an a simple oil lamp lightened the room at night, in moments like these i try to block my mind out from overthinking or experiencing a deep hidden flashback, i distracted myself from this memory from the past and decided instead to pay for my food and leave the place …

Before you think something is silly, consider maybe there is more to learn about it.

you wont believe the excitement during the the self guided tour , a lot to discover , i also wondered , those whom were sitting alone there, what were they think about and what was in their minds, I always wanted to speak to strangers and ask them directly about that, i should work more on my social anxiety and sometimes , shyness 🙈

The Viking Museum

There were a lot of informations here to absorb, very interesting , they started in Scandinavia , went all they way to Iceland and north America, expanded to the east , over the Baltic sea, Istanbul, and over to the great Mosque of Samaraa and Baghdad

Some Viking Alphabets

Vikers used to communicate and show dominance through stone carvings, they used to write their names, tell where they were etc

I honestly find those stone carving very artistic and interesting.

another runestone
walking in Stockholm is like having a walk in an open air Museum
ABBA Museum

I was actually surprised to know about ABBA are actually Swedish and not British , silly me thought , because they sing in english then they might be British. 😅

The Royal Palace change of guards
The Amazing view from the terrasse of my hotel in Bromma
can you spot the fade pink light in the sky? in real it looks intenser. this photo was taken from the window of my hotel room in Bromma, i believe the fade pink color is a the polar light.
Last but not least, the view from the airplane window on the way back to Munich 🤍

If you came accidentally , or intentionally across my blog and found it interesting, feel free to subscribe to my Email List. I will be notified about it and i will get back in touch with you.
